The Company also assembles Integrated Systems that combine its own products with those of other providers. GridPlex’s modular Products and Integrated Systems are designed to be sold to OEMs and through existing distribution channels by VARs and manufacturers’ representatives. GridPlex also uses these products and systems in its own Service deployments.
GridPlex’s ability to interface with existing products makes it possible to utilize the established manufacturer-distributor-engineer-specifier-installer chain that serves the building and home construction industries.
Services
GridPlex’s services are provided to users over the GridPlex networks.
GridPlex's “Managed Services” enable end-users and suppliers to continuously monitor and control the use and cost of information and resources that are essential to operating businesses, buildings and residences, including electricity, gas, water, temperature, air quality, secure access and remote diagnostics.
GridPlex’s Services include InfoAutomation, Energy Management, Safety Monitoring (remote camera control), building and home automation, equipment and resource usage monitoring, for both commercial and residential end-users.
Managed Services generate recurring monthly fees as well as non-recurring start up fees from users who derive value from their continued use.
Marketing will be conducted in partnership with broadband providers and other service companies.
GridPlex will use its presence on user’s screens in buildings and homes to offer a series of additional value-added services that layer on top of the entry-level Services platform.
Standard pre-configured systems and dedicated application software deliver specific Managed Services, where the customer buys equipment as well as a service that is provided on a continuing basis to manage it. An average user need only make a few simple selections that can be accessed remotely and applied automatically.
Additional services can be delivered over GridPlex’s network to electric utilities, including Automated Meter Reading, Demand Response and Network Monitoring. A monthly Gateway license fee is charged.
GridPlex will focus on the sale of recurring-revenue Services after year 3, once the effectiveness of its products and technology has been demonstrated in the market.
