SUITE OF ENERGY AND
UTILITY AUTOMATION
APPLICATIONS FOR
BPL AT UTC EXPO IN
LONG BEACH, CA
UPPER DARBY, PA, May, 2005 – Broadband Energy Networks, a Philadelphia-area developer of advanced automation hardware, software, and services, will introduce a suite of BPL-enabled Energy Automation Services for managing use of electricity and other essential resources, at the UTC (United Telecom Council) TELECOM 2005 Expo being held in Long Beach CA, May 22-25. These new Energy Automation Services from Broadband Energy are part of the Company’s UNI-PLEX™ Platform for Energy, Information and Automation – technology to enable more efficient use of electricity, water, natural gas, and other essential resources, with benefits for utilities and resource providers as well as for their customers and communities.
The company’s participation in the event, in the Mitsubishi Electric Power Products pavilion (Booth 320), will spotlight a series of BPL-enabled automation solutions developed by Broadband Energy –· Utility Applications, including demand response, grid monitoring, and AMR meter data display;· Building Automation Applications, for commercial, industrial, and residential facilities; and· Public Service Applications, such as air quality monitoring in public spaces, remote-controlled camera monitoring, and other public health, safety and homeland security uses.

To power its applications, Broadband Energy uses its UNI-PLEX Automation Computer, the Connector C2K, ™ as the local command center for the system, combining it on the BPL network with smart meters, communicating thermostats, intelligent lighting and load controls, remote-controllable cameras, and air quality monitors, to provide new services and applications for users and providers.
